The Lions Beirut Club Code, in cooperation with the Korean battalion, that works within the framework of UNIFIL in South Lebanon, organized an entertainment day for students of public schools in Tyre region, and that was on the occasion of the beginning of the new school year, taking place in the headquarters of the battalion-south of Tyre.
Additionally, Many public figures attended the event, The President of Lions Beirut Code Dr. Hassan Tajideen, Colonel Suk Mo Ko, the Head of Lions Information Committee 351 Hadi Al-Husseini, Head of Lions Region 351 Ziad Shamma, officers and soldiers of the Korean Battalion, and educational figures and students.
The activity started with the Lebanese and Korean anthems, and then the students attended a documentary film to learn more about Korea, its past and present, and about the UNIFIL missions in South Lebanon.
Moreover, the Korean band presented games and activities, such as playing traditional Korean music on the drums, and then sweets and drinks were distributed to the students.
Where as,Dr. Tajideen delivered a speech in which he stressed the role of the Korean battalion regarding the security, humanitarian, social and educational tasks in assisting the local population.
Also he thanked the Korean government and the commander of the Korean battalion, Colonel Koo, for setting up the activity.
Adding that the purpose of establishing this activity for students is to ease the burden on the students’ families to buy stationery and educational tools. He pointed out that Lions Association is one of the largest associations in the world, of one million and three hundred and fifty thousand people spread all over the world. And as Lions Beirut Club Code, its a pleasure to be hosted by the Korean battalion and to participate together in this educational activity.
In his turn, Colonel Co said that: “we are pleased today to receive students of public schools in our site to provide them with stationery and school tools and this is a beautiful thing, to see the smile and joy on the faces of the students.
Stressing that the battalion continues and is continuing to provide assistance to the local people. And here I would like to thank the President of the Lions Beirut Club Code Dr. Hassan Tajideen for his fruitful cooperation in the establishment of this activity, which rejoice our hearts and the hearts of the students, that we always aspire to see them happy with a smile on their faces”.
In the end, Colonel Ko and Tajideen distributed educational tools and stationery to the students.
