The commander of the Italian battalion in UNIFIL, Colonel Jacomo Ginatacio, stressed during a luncheon held at the office of the battalion in Mansouri, in the honor of the head of the “Lions Beirut Club Code” Dr. Hassan Tajideen, on the fraternal relations with the civil society, also noting to the “hospitality” of the people in southern Lebanon, their cooperation, and the mutual respect between both sides.
Dr. Tajideen in his turn thanked the Italian government, the Italian people, and the Italian Battalion for supporting Lebanon and standing by its side, assuring on the fraternal relations between the two countries. He also praised the role of UNIFEL when it comes to the security duties with the Lebanese army, and regarding the aids on all levels, development, humanitarian, social, and educational.
Furthermore, Colonel Jacomo presented a shield of the Italian Battalion “Garibaldi” for Dr. Tajideen.
Besides, Dr. Tajideen granted the colonel with a shield that symbolizes appreciation.
