On the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Sayyid Musa al-Sadr and his two companions, the Amal Movement in Tyre, in cooperation with the municipality of Tyre and the veteran players of the Lebanese football stars in Tyre, held a “Mini Football” football match for the “Imam al-Sadr Cup” that took place on the municipality’s Playground and brought together a team of Old Lebanese football stars in Tyre in addition to the Tyre municipality team.
The match was attended by the official of the Amal Movement Division in Tyre, Hamza Qatish, the mayor of Tyre, Hassan Dabouq, represented by Professor Ahmed Faraj, the head of Stars College High School, Dr. Hassan Tajeddine, the head of the South Farmers’ Association, Engineer Muhammad al-Husseini, with the participation of stars from Lebanese football and pictures of the players, media captain Haider Hawila, Captains Haitham Zein, Nassif Zein, Nasrat El Gamal, coach Fadi Zein, a number of club presidents, sporting, social and sporting events and a crowd of fans.
After the Lebanese national anthem and the movement’s anthem, Qutaish delivered a speech in which he considered that the occasion had a great impact on the souls of southerners and the people of Tire and Lebanon. He said that holding this match bearing the name of the hidden Imam, Commander Musa al-Sadr, has a resounding resonance in the hearts and souls of southerners and the people of Tire, and today we are holding This match commemorates Imam al-Sadr and his two companions, as usual every year, bringing together an elite group of veteran Lebanese and Tyre football players competing for the Imam Cup, and whoever wins, everyone wins.
Qutaish concluded by saying that Imam al-Sadr’s approach and thought implanted in our hearts the faith and humanity, the defense of the deprived and the oppressed, and adherence to Lebanon’s unity and coexistence, thanking everyone who contributed to this activity.
The match ended with the victory of the Lebanese football veterans and Tyre, with four goals, against a goal for the Movement the municipality of Tyre.
